Fitness assessments at Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center are administered by one of our certified fitness specialists. They use the technologically advanced MicroFit® program to provide you accurate information about your current fitness levels, body composition, cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, blood chemistry and other baseline measurements. The results of your assessment are essential for developing your personalized fitness program. Track your progress through regular assessments and documentation of your achievements.
The initial fitness assessment is an hour-long test that provides you with baseline statistics tailored to plan the perfect training regimen. Your assessment will test your total cholesterol and glucose, resting heart rate and blood pressure, body composition, muscular strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. With our MicroFit® software, you can expect accurate results to develop the perfect routine for your fitness goals!
The equipment orientation is an hour-long appointment that will get you acclimated with our full line of fitness equipment. One of our fitness specialists will be with you step by step to answer any questions and help you get the most out of your membership.
Free annual assessments are available for all Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center members who have completed an initial Fitness Assessment upon joining the club. They must be completed one year from when they were initially done and can be scheduled with the Fitness Manager. If you are not sure if you are due for your annual assessment, contact Bo Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or (847) 535-7139.
Annual Assessments include everything that was completed during the initial Fitness Assessment, except for the blood work. If you would like to have the blood work completed again, the charge for the Basic Lipid Panel is $10 or the Full Lipid Panel is $20.
Athletic Fitness Assessment — Measures your height and weight, seven-site body composition, three rep max bench press, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and estimate VO2 max.
Basic Lipid Profile — The lipid and glucose panel is a fasting blood draw through a finger stick that will assess total cholesterol and glucose.
Body Composition — The medical Body Composition Analyzer (mBCA) by seca breaks down your weight into body compartments: Fat Mass, Fat-free Mass, Body Water and Skeletal Muscle Mass. Learn more about our Body Composition Analyzer >
BodyGem — The BodyGem will provide you with your RMR, or Resting Metabolic Rate. Your RMR can act as your "guide" when determining how many calories you need to consume in order to meet and exceed your weight loss goals. Learn more about BodyGem >
Bone Density — Ultrasound bone sonometry is a safe, radiation-free modality that provides precise quantitative assessment of skeletal status, useful in identifying patients at risk of developing osteoporosis and assessing their risk of future fracture. In less than a minute, you can estimate a patient’s bone density, based on an ultrasound measurement of the calcaneus (heel bone).
Full Lipid Profile — The lipid and glucose panel is a fasting blood draw through a finger stick that will assess total cholesterol, HDL (high-density lipoprotein), triglycerides, glucose, TC/HDL ratio and an estimate of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and VLDL (very low-density lipoprotein).
