Goals help measure progress, but it’s important to understand that fitness is a journey. It is going to take some time and effort to reach your goals. Stay consistent with your plan, and your results will come.
Many individuals who struggle to find their fitness motivation just haven’t found their exercise niche quite yet. You may need to try a few different forms of exercise until you find one you look forward to every day. Seek out activities that fit with your lifestyle and personality. If you like dancing with friends, try Zumba. If you want to feel empowered, check out kickboxing or martial arts. If you’re seeking solace, choose yoga or running.
If you wore the same outfit or ate the same lunch for three months, you’d get bored with it. The same goes for your fitness routine. If you like to exercise with a group, check out new classes offered on our Group Exercise schedule, or new fitness programs such as Team Training or Zone Training. If you prefer to be outdoors, consider joining a running group or team sport. Whatever you choose, variety will keep exercise interesting, stimulating and fun.
Many people begin a regular exercise routine to shed a couple of pounds or to make other improvements in their physical appearance. But don’t forget, regular exercise can reduce a number of chronic physical and mental health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and depression.
