warm water therapy pool

Unique among clubs on the North Shore, Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center is proud to offer its members a dedicated Warm Water Therapy Pool adjacent to the main pool. With an average temperature ranging from 90 to 92 degrees, the pool is handicap-accessible and ideal for those suffering from joint pain, arthritis or fibromyalgia.

Our therapy pool hosts the largest arthritis class program in Illinois, with classes instructed by Arthritis Foundation-certified instructors. As part of our commitment to providing medical fitness programs to our members, we also offer a range of other warm water exercise programs and open availability.

Arthritis & Warm Water Therapy Classes

Held as part of our Arthritis & Fibromyalgia Programs, our Arthritis & Warm Water Therapy classes are held in the Warm Water Therapy Pool. These specialty classes help those suffering from arthritis or fibromyalgia to alleviate health issues, increase joint range of motion, build muscle strength, reduce pain and stiffness and experience a better quality of life.

Most classes are taught by certified instructors through the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program. All of the below classes are held in the Warm Water Therapy Pool:

  • Aqua Arthritis — We host the largest Aqua Arthritis program in the state of Illinois. The 12-week session focuses on range of motion and reducing pain and stiffness. Learn more about Aqua & Arthritis Classes.
  • Ai Chi — Ai Chi follows a flowing progression of slow, broad movements using your arms, legs and torso. Learn more about Aqua & Arthritis Classes.
  • Fibro — Specifically designed for those suffering from fibromyalgia. Learn more about Aqua & Arthritis Classes.
